Hello!
It’s me again haha and I’m gonna continue the Review per ep of Hana Yori Dango drama. So for ep 2, it’s more or less the same as ep.1. Still a bit more exposition and character introduction. We see more characters such as Shizuka Toudo.
So my thoughts on ep 2, it’s still a fun drama and Makino still rockin it XD But to start off lemme just say, there’s some weird things happening here. First of the kidnapping… It’s just a bit borderline creepy. But oh well haha, it’s very shoujo like tho. I like how Makino gets so mad at Domyoji for doing this. I think this is one of the first realizations of Domyoji on how an ass he is LOL. Inoue Mao as usual, stunning! She really nails that angry face.
And her being lost in the mansion? XD
In this episode we start to see confused Domyoji too. He is so confused why this mere girl deffy him. He can’t buy him with his money and power, unlinke all the others around him. I think he starts to like her, but he is confused and doesn't know what to do with this feeling. Him ordering Makino to licks his shoes is just brutal. In short, I think he thought he could have Makino by showing off his wealth and power. He thought that just because he wanted to he could just have Makino, by forcing his power on her. Makino never bowed down to him, so he started to evaluate himself. What is beneath all that wealth and power?
Unlike alot of other people, for me Makino falling for Hanazawa Rui just doesn't make any sense to me. I think the reason she started to like him is because he is the only one in school that doesn’t bully her and saves her alot of times. But he himself is a member of F4, so he isn't a saint either. Well, infact all F4 aren’t saints.
That reminds me, there’s also some things that just don't sit right with me. Beside the kidnapping and F4 actually being an ass, are the mysogonistic views. I get it, this was released in 2005, furthermore in Japan. But still… It's just a tad bit off for me.
Alright, continuing! Particular scene I also want to talk about is Shizuka Toudo party. I really like Shizuka character, she is so nice and smart. But unfortunately, I also could see she is a bit egoist LOL. More onto the part part, when Makino came down stairs and smiled when Rui said she looks pretty, I think that ticks Domyoji off. He doesn’t understand why Makino could smile to Rui but not to him. It's very nice how things develop.
In conclusion, another great ep! Entertaining enough ^^
